The time has come for tour to commence!  I'll be kicking off my fall TIL WE'RE BLACK AND BLUE tour tonight, at the first of four MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK shows I'm supporting.  On the fence?  Allow me to supply you with some reasons to come out to a show:

I am totally psyched to announce my upcoming Fall 2011 'TIL WE'RE BLACK AND BLUE Tour. I'll be joined by ELLIOT JACOBSON on drums, and SAM BRADLEY and HANK AND CUPCAKES will open a lot of the shows.   YES!  On top of my own tour, I'll also be supporting my buddies MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK on the NYC and BOSTON stops of their 4 ALBUMS. 2 NIGHTS. 7 CITIES. TOUR!

I am so excited that I will probably explode before the tour actually starts.

That's right.  One week from today, on Tuesday June 28th, I will release a new song. 

The song is called "Great Big Plans."  Production duties were handled by the talented Greg Laswell.  He also handled all the microphones and many, many instruments, including his beautiful voice.

"Great Big Plans" will go live on Bandcamp.com 6/28/11.

In the meantime, I'll be posting one Greg Laswell-centric thing every day on my tumblr til the song is released!

Dearly beloved,

A nice healthy span of time has passed since the good people of planet Earth came together to make my Kickstarter campaign wildly successful.  All of y'all are incredible.  I seriously still cannot even handle it.  But right about now, lovely as you are, you're probably wondering... What is Jenny doing?  Where is the record?  How long could these things possibly take?!  Could she have blown all that Kickstarter money on pizza and Tom Waits records?  And if so, how many pizzas and Tom Waits records would that yield?**  

Well, I'm writing now to assure you that Dan Romer and I (along with assorted henchpeople) have been toiling in the name of rock and roll since the fall.  We have forged a great big mess of songs in the fires of Morhdorh (read: Brooklyn) and have subsequently whittled down that mess to 12 songs that belong together.  Half of these songs are just about finito.  The second half are hot on the heels of their brothers.  

Many of you have asked if the songs generally referred to as "Pirates" and "Love is a Hole" will be on the album.  The answer, I can now tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt, is HELL YES.  I can also tell you that in addition to writing some songs with Dan, I've collaborated with Ben Thornewill of Jukebox the Ghost, and those efforts will be included as well.  

If you are a Kickstarter donor, please know that in a few weeks you'll start to see a whole lot more photos, videos, and other updates.  As soon as we started recording, I started shooting, but it became impossible to sort through and edit things in any consistent way while simultaneously trying to push the record forward (it's a boulder).  

If all you want is some new freaking music, then consider the following:

1) NEW SONG.  END OF THE MONTH.  UNRELATED TO ALBUM.  BUT STILL GOOD.  STAY TUNED.  Join the mailing list!!

2) I've started a new YouTube series called Favorite Songs.  It's just what it sounds like (I think).  Me, singing songs I love that were written by other people.  You can watch my takes on Johnny Cash and Motion City Soundtrack now, and there'll be more to come. 

3) I'll continue playing new songs (as they become playable) during my internet concerts via StageIt.com... The next show is 7/7/11 at 8pm Eastern!
